Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well. We've been busy over the last weeks adjusting to our new and improved family life and all the fun that goes along with a 5 year old and a 15 month old. Laney (and Scuttle) got to experience snow for the first time, right here at home! It didn't last long, but it was long enough for Laney to realize why we live near the beach and not the mountains. Let's just say she is a summer girl at heart. We celebrated Chinese New Year with our local Families With Children from China group and Laney and her best friend Hope looked beautiful posing for pictures. The girls performed a Chinese song for the audience and Laney got to wear the silk outfit we bought in Vietnam. Kiah did not make a stage debut that night, but chose instead to sit in the audience and throw as many Cheerios and Goldfish on the floor as possible. He did, though, decide to take his first steps during the Super Bowl! He started walking towards me from our friend David, and Perry was able to capture it on video. Since then, he has gotten to where he prefers walking to crawling. Our house will never be the same again. Kiah's personality is really coming out and he is so excited to see Laney and Scuttle every morning. When I get him out of the crib, Scuttle is always there to greet him, and Laney usually appears shortly thereafter. Kiah says, "HEEYYYYY" when he sees Laney and smiles his big, toothy grin. It isn't all smiles and squeals between the two of them, but overall, it couldn't get much better. We are truly blessed.

Marilyn and I are also blessed. We have had a front row seat during this two month growing experience, and we want MORE!
